Parent Update - August 27th

posted Aug 27, 2020, 4:09 PM by Tracy MacAulay

Dear St Rita families,

It has been another very busy week planning our Return to School.  As you know, the Board provided another update yesterday that included more information about virtual learning, transportation, the extended day program and updated staggered entry dates.  If you missed these updates, you can find them on this LINK.

We are pleased to inform all Junior Kindergarten parents that we have received the go ahead to have you and your child meet with their kindergarten educators on either September 3rd or 4th.  It will be your preference on how this meeting will take place, either at the school or virtually.  We will be in touch by phone with you in the next day to set up an appointment time.  At that time, please indicate your preference for an in school or virtual meeting.

With the delay in school bussing to September 14th, our plans for drop off and pick up each day have needed to be revised.  We appreciate your patience as we work through the logistics of getting students safely into class.

As we plan for in class learning and the Virtual Academy, we understand that this has been a very difficult decision for families.  As we move forward with our planning, we would ask that you stay with your decision for the first reporting period, September to the end of October.

For those of you who may have missed our previous email with Back to School information, please take a look at our Guidebook.  As more information becomes available, we will be updating the book so check back frequently to see additions.

Finally, as many of you may know, we had planned to start a Walking School Bus right after March break last school year.  We are now ready to start this program at St Rita and are looking for a Volunteer for the program.  If you are interested in participating, please check out this LINK.

As always, we appreciate your support as together we plan for a safe return to school.
